CVS Photo online has been hacked

CVS has posted a notice for it's customers stating credit card information collected by an independent vendor who manages and hosts CVSPhoto.com may have been compromised. As a precaution, an investigation is underway. Access to online mobile photo and related services have temporarily been shut down.

The Home Depot hit by cyber attack

The Home Depot has left a message on it's site to alert customers about the possibility their system may have been hacked. What the company hasn't outright said is that your credit information has been stolen. Many credit cards are already being sold online.

Since this isn't the first store to have been hacked, we should know some of this by now, but it needs repeating. Change your passwords on your accounts. Since this invasion is possibly greater than the Target mess, it would probably be wise to cancel or freeze your card. And, don't forget credit monitoring.

The world is buzzing about the nude celebrity photos that were hacked from Apple's iCloud where they were thought to be safe. Some even thought their photos had been deleted.

The UPS Store notifies customers of potential data compromise and incident resolution

The UPS Store logo - letterheadThe UPS Store discovered malware at 51 locations, in 24 states of 4,470 franchised center locations throughout the United States. Certain customers' information, who used a credit or debit cards at the impacted franchised center locations between Jan. 20 and Aug. 11, 2014, may have been exposed. For most locations, the period of exposure to this malware began after March 26. The malware was eliminated as of August 11 and customers can shop securely at all The UPS Store locations according to The UPS Store.

eBay hacked - change your passwords now



eBay Inc. asks eBay users to change passwords

There has been a data data breach at eBay and they are finally alerting it's customers. This cyber attack may be larger than the Target attack. 

Yesterday eBay Inc. announced it is aware of unauthorized access to eBay systems that may have exposed some customer information. There is no evidence financial data was compromised and there is no evidence PayPal or customers have been affected by the unauthorized access to eBay systems.

If you shop at Michaels Stores, Inc., check your bank statements and change your passwords on your accounts. The store announced it recently learned of possible fraudulent activity on some U.S. payment cards that were used in it's stores.

LivingSocial's been hacked, change your password





LivingSocial recently experienced a cyber-attack on its computer systems that resulted in unauthorized access to some customer data from its servers. They are now working with law enforcement to investigate this issue.

6.5 million LinkedIn member passwords compromised; How to protect yourself


This week some LinkedIn member passwords were compromised, said, Vicente Silveira, Director of LinkedIn, in a statement on the site. Approximately 6.5 million hashed LinkedIn passwords were posted on a hacker site. Unfortunately, a small subset of the hashed passwords were decoded and published.

A company that processes major credit and debit cards, has been hacked. Global Payments, a third party entity, is notifying banks and other companies so they can notify their consumers about the compromise of the accounts.

Zappos.com has been hacked


Yesterday, I received an email from Zappos.com explaining there may have been illegal and unauthorized access to some of my customer account information including: name, email, billing and shipping address, phone number, and the lat four digits of my credit card, as well as the scrambled password.
