CVS has posted a notice for it's customers stating credit card information
collected by an independent vendor who manages and hosts CVSPhoto.com
may have been compromised. As a precaution, an investigation is
underway. Access to online mobile photo and related services have temporarily been shut down.
Customers who provided credit card information for transactions on
CVSPhoto.com are advised to check their credit card statements for any
fraudulent or suspicious activity and call their bank or financial
institution to report anything of concern.
Online photo processing and
CVSPhoto.com are completely separate from CVS.com, optical.cvs.com, cvs.com/MinuteClinic online bill pay and CVS pharmacies. Financial
transactions on CVS.com, optical.cvs.com, cvs.com/MinuteClinic and
in-store are not affected.
CVS says nothing is more central to them than protecting the privacy and
security of it's customers information, including financial information.
CVS is working with the vendor and it's financial partners and
will share updates as they become available. For more information, call 1-800-SHOP-CVS.
