i feel like im a good parent, i communicate effectively with my children, they are respectful, and honest and helpful! im actively involved in their lives, homeroom mom, cheer team mom, and stay in close contact with the one that doesnt live at home. i hope they think so too!

I did not over-mother my kid. My mom and and dad let us kids make lots of mistakes and our own decisions and fight our own fights. I did the same with my kid. It's not that I intentionally followed my parents' way, I just did it that way. And each of my siblings are successful, self-employed businessmen (only one went to university) -- and so is my kid! (I retired at age 50½ without pension.)
As a Mother I communicate with my children often. I have expectations and teach them to be independent. I support their dreams...I am their #1 fan!

I'm a unique parent, I think, because I try to speak to my kids as if they are equals. I don't sugar coat things, and I'm honest with them as often as I can be. I show them respect, and in turn, they show me respect!
