I am a terrible person when it comes to receiving gifts. I am always so embarrassed and never can express how I truly feel. Usually I even screw up and say or do the wrong thing and make the gift giver think I am ungrateful.
This was the case when I was given a truly wonderful gift of love one year for Christmas. I will never forget it.
I was working hard and after a bad day came home late and very tired. I knew that once I arrived home I still had a lot to do, because it was almost Christmas.
But as I walked in the door I was greeted by my daughter and her family. And they had a wonderful surprise awaiting me - my Christmas tree was sparkling bright in the living room. I choked back tears and instead said something stupid because I was embrassed.
They had put it up for me while I was at work so I wouldn't have to it myself. It was such a relief that I could cross that off my to do list, and it made it feel like the holidays - which had been lacking.

That was one of the best gifts ever and I will never forget it. But, I will also never forget that I never properly expressed how much I truly appreciated the gift. I want them to know that now. I want them to know that gift of love meant more than anything money could buy, because it was from their heart and it was something I needed and wanted very much.

You a welcome mom...it's the little things that mean the most! You don't have to buy a lot of stuff to make it a Merry Christmas. I hope you have your tree up, if you don't and you need help, let us know.
