Preparing for a weather emergency

As Hurricane Joaquin beats down on the Bahamas, the East Coast of the United States is making preparations for an historic flood threat. There is a serious threat to life and property.

Preparing for the winter storm

Our first 2014 snow.
With the weather due to change from the 60 degrees we had a couple of days ago, to a "catastrophic event" of a foot of snow and ice, we have been making preparations. 



If there's a power outage, wells don't pump. We are on a community well. That means no water. So we got gallon jugs of water to have for coffee and large containers filled to use for flushing the toilets if needed.

Are you prepared for Irene?


Although we live in the Foothills of N.C., we aren't feeling comfortable about the impact Hurricane Irene could have in this area. We remember living in Fayetteville, N.C., when we thought Hugo was going to hit us there, and it hit the Charlotte metro area instead.
