Happy 5th Birthday to my granddaughter

Kristen we are so blessed God brought you to us. You have brought sunshine into our lives. There's no way this world would be the same without your pretty smile in it.

Win Prefense - the non-alcohol, 24 hour lasting, foaming hand sanitizer

Our family is big on hand washing and using hand sanitizer to fight germs. My grandkids know they have to do it to keep from getting sick, and they do often.

Win Boon Bath Goods 2/26

My granddaughter, Kristen, loves the water. She never fights about talking a bath. And when she got the Boon Bath Goods, immediately that's what she wanted to do. Her smile tells the story of how much she loves it.

Stomach pains can be a sign of strep

I have raised two kids and have three grandkids, yet I have never heard a doctor tell me that lower stomach pains with no other symptoms could be strep throat. I know my mouth dropped open as I shook my head in disbelief.

My granddaughter feeds the animals as we drive thru Lazy 5 Ranch

My granddaughter, Kristen, feeds a deer at the Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, N.C.

Lazy 5 Ranch, privately owned by Henry Hampton, is an exotic animal drive-thru park that offers a 3.5 mile educational experience for kids of all ages. Mr. Hampton's son came up with the name, Lazy 5 Ranch. He said his family at the time consisted of 5 "lazy" people.

Can I ride in the big seat?

It breaks my heart when babies get their feelings hurt and cry. So my husband and I have learned it's easier to distract them and keep everybody happy.

One day we went to our grandson's baseball game and Kristen got in the truck so she could play and be cooler. One thing she played with was strapping herself in the "big seat".

When it came time to leave she got strapped in and started chiming, "Paw Paw, Paw Paw" asking to ride in her brother's seat.

As hard as it is to say no to that sweet, innocent face, this was one time Kristen had to be told no - gently of course, for her own safety.

It didn't take much to get her mind on something else, then she got into her Graco car seat and we all had a great day without a fight or tears.
