Pop star, Mariah Carey is the newest judge on American Idol with a reported paycheck of $17 million for one year. That's $5 million more than Jennifer Lopez received last year. It's also $2 million more than the new judge of The X-Factor, Brittney Spears, who reportedy rakes in $15 million. Spears contracted to make more on her first year than JLo was making in her second year.

Last night American Idol began with concerns about Lauren’s vocals. She blew out one of her vocal cords during rehearsals.

American Idol got it right - almost

This week I think American Idol voters almost got it right. I am glad they sent Naima Adedapo home - finally. However, instead of Thia Megia, I would have preferred Casey Abrams being sent home since he was voted off last week. 

At least all the best are still in the game. 

Idol sends top "11" on tour; Two Idols will have to be cut next week

I sure don't agree with all the choices of the top "11" on American Idol tonight, but at least most of them are correct. But, the show itself was entertaining.

I can't believe the producers of American Idol expect us to think it's OK, to watch a taped show of the top 13, instead of live performances. Are they afraid of the performers, or are they afraid of the judges messing up on live TV?
