We will never forget 9-11

We will never forget the day our nation was attacked by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001. That's the day 13 years ago that changed our world as we know it. 

Heroes lost. Heroes found. Heroes serve.

It seems like a lifetime ago, yet it seems like only yesterday when my phone rang in the early morning and the voice of a dear friend yelled, "turn on your TV." I asked her why and she yelled again to just turn it on. That's when I found out our world had changed forever. We would no longer feel safe from terror on American soil.

The enemy is waiting. It has no face, but it has patience, to wait until we become slackers.

Until we let down our guard. Until we are consumed by our own little world.

Then our enemy will surely strike again.

We must never forget. We must not let our fellow Americans die in vain. We must not let our military heroes die in vain. Or their families suffer a loss in vain.

We must remember the horror. We must remember it wasn't a movie. We must remember how real it continues to be.

We are strong as a nation. We are strong when we stand together. We are strong when we are one.

It is not over. It will never be over.
