We usually pass out treats and check out the neighborhood for different costumes the children wear for Halloween.
Things have changed over time but growing up, my mom and dad would take the kids trick-or-treating and then my Dad would eat candy to "make sure it's not poisonous". Now I take my nieces trick-or-treating. It's so fun to see them growing up!
We take the little ones out trick-or-treating while another person stays home and passes out candy. We might make cupcakes and other fun snacks around the date.
We don't give out candy because we live in a kind of rural area but we do love to go out trick-or-treating. I'm a bit of a planner so I've even mapped out out favorite routes.
