Help the homeless at Hickory Crawdads Open House 4/5; Many special prices, events offered

The Hickory Crawdads annual Open House event will take place Saturday, April 5 at newly renovated Crawdads Stadium. The event will feature games, special ticket deals and concessions while also allowing fans a chance to meet a few of the new Crawdads players.

The free event will run from 10am - 1 pm, with the bounce house, speed pitch, face painting, on-field games and other fun activities available. Concessions will also be sold at the event, including $1 hot dogs/Pepsi products and free popcorn.

Sleeping mat and pillow made from grocery bags.

Fans will be able to take advantage of several exclusive Open House ticket deals while at the event. The first deal has the 'Dads teaming up with Carolina Container, who is accepting grocery bags on behalf of The Bag Ladies of Corinth Baptist Church and Plateau United Methodist Women's Mission Group. The groups use these old grocery bags to make sleeping mats and pillows for the Hickory area homeless. Fans will receive one free Crawdads ticket (good for all April and May home games) for every 25 bags donated.

The 'Dads will also be offering another ticket deal to commemorate the South Atlantic League-record 178 home runs that the 2013 Crawdads hit. For every Opening Weekend ticket purchased at regular price, fans can buy another Opening Weekend ticket for $1.78.

Finally, younger Crawdads fans can pick up a discounted or even free Buffalo Wild Wings Claw Club membership. Memberships can be purchased individually at a discounted price of $29, a savings of $10. Fans can get a free Claw Club membership however by signing up for the 4-day Barkley Baseball School. The clinic runs July 22 - 25 and is available to children ages 5-14 for $99.

Other activities scheduled for the Open House include National Anthem tryouts beginning at 11 am, tours of the on-going Crawdads Stadium renovations, and a chance to meet a few of the new 'Dads players.

The Crawdads open the season on Thursday, April 3 in Greensboro before playing their home opener at the newly renovated Crawdads Stadium on Thursday, April 10. Tickets are on sale for all 70 'Dads home games, as well as the South Atlantic League All-Star Game on June 17. Tickets may be purchased online, by phone, or in-person at the Crawdads Ticket Office.

Thanks 'Dads
