I'm so happy General Hospital, which celebrated 50 years on April 1, has been nominated for 19 Daytime Emmy Awards. This year the classic Port Charles Nurses Ball, a fundraiser for HIV and AIDS awareness, was revived and a smashing success. 

Jason Thompson, who plays Dr. Patrick Drake, had to go through the death of his wife, a drug addiction, raising a daughter as a single parent, and falling in love again.

I am so happy to see Julie Marie Berman nominated, although I am sad she is no longer portraying the role of Lulu Spencer.  

Bradford Anderson, Damian Spinelli, has been on the wrong side of the law, a computer genius, lost his memory, in love, heartbroken, in love again, an unknown father, a PI, created a group called Friends of Spinelli whenhe lost his computer skills, author. 

Personally, I don't Kristen Alderson, Starr Manning, was in her role long enough to earn outstanding younger actress. 

However, Brooklyn Rae Silzer, who plays Emma Drake, is a star. That child has endured the death of her mommy, her daddy doing drugs, her daddy falling for a crazy woman and allegedly getting her pregnant, her daddy falling in love, living through a crisis where the town is under siege and she could die, and she was convincing in everything she did.  

Lindsey Morgan, Kristina Davis Corinthos, grew up this past year. She became an author, fell in love for the first time, started testing the limits of parental authority, helped in a jail break, learned how to fight for what's right.

I am disappointed Steve Burton, as Jason Morgan, wasn't recognized for his role, although he is no longer on GH. What does a man have to do to earn an Emmy?
