DWTS cast includes country music stars, a General Hospital star; Pro not returning

Country Music superstar Kellie Pickler will be heating up the dance floor with Derek Hough on DWTS.

Dancing with the Stars - Season 16 cast announcement

A new cast of stars and dancers were announced this morning on Good Morning America and it was confirmed Maksim Chmerkovskiy is not returning to the show

It was great to hear one of our North Carolinian, American Idol, Country Music superstars, made the cut. I know as long as Kellie Pickler is on the dance floor, she has my votes.

KELLIE PICKLER
Kellie Pickler grew up in the small town of Albemarle, N.C., with country music in her heart and soul. She listened to the women who would influence her career: Tammy Wynette; Patsy Cline; Loretta Lynn; and Dolly Parton.

Pickler was a contestant on the fifth season of American Idol when she was 19. The sweet, hometown girl kept everyone laughing during the show.

In 2006, she signed to 19 Recordings/BNA Records and released her debut recording, Small Town Girl, which has sold more than 800,000 copies, and produced three singles: “Red High Heels,” “I Wonder,” and “Things That Never Cross a Man’s Mind.”

In 2008, Pickler released “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful,” “Best Days of Your Life” (co-written with Taylor Swift and her first Top 10), and “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You.”

Pickler, a strong vocalist and songwriter, released her third studio album, 100 Proof, last year with famed producer Frank Liddell and Luke Wooten. The album earned recognition as one of the “Best of 2012” by Rolling Stone and The Washington Post.

In Dec. 2012, she performed for our troops on six USO Tours, including one to Afghanistan. Now signed to Black River Entertainment, she is ready to release a new single and album this year.
Pickler has been partnered with professional dancer Derek Hough

Ingo Rademacher, also known as Jasper "Jax" on General Hospital, will be dancing with Kym Johnson.

INGO RADEMACHER
Soap opera star Ingo Rademacher is best known as the charismatic Jasper “Jax” Jacks on ABC’s General Hospital. He originated the role of “Jax,” having first aired on General Hospital in January of 1996. His other television credits include Hawaii Five-O, Titans, Veronica’s Closet, and According To Jim.

As an athlete, Rademacher has a long list of accomplishments. He was a ski champion and a competitive equestrian as a youth. He has also competed at a high level in beach volleyball and triathlons (winner of the Nautica Malibu Triathlon, celebrity division for three consecutive years). He took the pole position in the 2005 Long Beach Grand Prix and he recently completed the 32-mile Molokai to Oahu "Channel of Bones" stand-up paddle board race.

In his spare time he goes to the track racing dirt bikes and street bikes.
Rademacher moved to Hawaii in 2012 to pursue his passion for the sport of stand-up paddle board racing.

He and his wife, Ehiku have two sons, Peanut and Pohaku.
Rademacher will be in the arms of professional dancer Kym Johnson
Country Music superstar Wynnna Judd, will be dancing with Tony Dovolani.

So sad Max isn't coming back...but totally understand what the possible reason might be -- there really is no consistency in the judging. What one person does that is okay is said to be unacceptable by another. I hope he returns in future seasons - it would be a shame to not get to watch him dance again. Aside from his good looks, he is an amazing dancer.

No Maks! He's the reason I watch!

I do agree with him, though. The judging is all over the place and Derek gets a pass rather frequently.

Kellie Pickler doesn't look anything like she did when she arrived on Idol. I didn't even recognize her.
