Ragu commercial stirs controversy

Ragu-Commercial

The premiere of A Long Day of Childhood calls for America's Favorite Pasta sauce, so give 'em RagĂș, has a lot of people talking. Ragu's commercial aired during the Olympics in prime time, and stirred quite a controversy about the birds and the bees.

It begins with a boy looking for his mom. He climbs the stairs yelling for her.

As music plays a catchy tune, “Parents in bed, but it’s just 8 o’clock. That’s why they taught you, you should always knock” are heard at the same time the boy opens his parent's bedroom door and has a shocked look on his face. He turns and leaves, shutting the door behind him.

The song continues, "You need Ragu, for this growing up stuff," as a jar of sauce is being poured in a pot and spaghetti is broken into another. The song continues as the family begins to eat, "Give him Ragu,  he's been through enough."

The announcer says, A Long Day of Childhood calls for America's Favorite Pasta sauce.

As a parent, are you concerned your child will watch this commercial and know more than they learn from other shows, the Internet or friends? Frankly, I don't think kids will pay any attention to it. And, if they do, it's simple enough to say you don't know what he saw, because you don't.

Or, is this funny, cute, and entertaining? I love the expression on the boy's face. He is so believable, it's priceless.

Let me know which side you are on.
