Have you heard about the Doomsday Virus? Today when Bill McGinty at NewsChannel 36 in Charlotte alerted us to check our computer for a dangerous virus, I was blown away. I hadn't heard a word about it.
Hackers have infected thousands of computers in the U.S. and beyond. Although the the hackers have been busted by the FBI, the damage has been done. And, on July 9 you may become a victim. But, you don't have to if you check your computer now.
The FBI has provided a link on its site to check your computer against this virus. As a safety factor you can go to the NewsChannel 36 story for the link. When you get to the FBI page, I did as told in the story and clicked the first English URL and I got the green page pictured above.
If you get a red page you need professional help to get rid of the virus.
