Enter the Hallmark book contest

She’s your teacher, cheerleader, confidante, and friend. Mom has done more for you than you probably even realize. From making you eat your veggies and refusing to let you wear THAT, to laughing at your jokes and telling you how beautiful you are, there are so many things to be grateful for. So tell us — what do you want to say to your mom?


Write a sweet, sincere, or funny letter, short story, or poem with the theme “Thanks, Mom” to your mom or someone who’s been like a mom to you.

 Winning submissions will be compiled into a book.
(Please note: this is not a Mother’s Day book; it’s an anytime book for and about moms.)

Submissions cannot exceed 2,000 characters (including spaces). No illustrations or photos this time — only writing.

Make sure your entries were created just for this contest; if they've been published anywhere before, we can’t accept them. We’re looking for true stories, letters, or poems to or about your mom.

Winners will get $50 and 2 free books.

There will be three categories for this contest:

• Letter
• Short Story
• Poem

You may enter one piece of writing for each category.
