My grandson was given a candy box for his birthday present this year. But, he doesn't eat much candy.
So, we decided to eat all the candy ourselves. But, we replaced it with something he does like.
We crafted a birthday surprise full of presidents. Yes, money!
After covering the box, new candy cups were taped into the box. Then, they were filled with different denominations of coins, and bills to equal the amount we wanted to give our grandson for his birthday.
A piece of bubble wrap was placed on top, and taped on both sides. Then, since the lid has magnets in it to hold it closed, a ribbon was attached as a pull to open the box - that way he wouldn't shake it trying to open it.
It worked out perfectly. We had our granddaughter help make it. She told him - don't shake it or you'll break it! He opened it gently and was very surprised. And, happy with his present.
