Class action lawsuit may be filed against Facebook for all of it's users

Facebook, a social networking service, is being sued for invasion of privacy by the attorneys for two claimants - Laura Maguire of Charlotte, and Orioles owner, Christopher Simon of Baltimore. The suit was filed in California, where Facebook is based.

The lawsuit may turn into a class action suit.

It's not uncommon for businesses to use "cookies" to track people online. However, it's been alleged Facebook follows us even when we're logged off, to use the information to gain advertisers.

Facebook denies the allegations.

As of February 2012, Facebook has more than 845 million active users, according to Wikipedia. It's revenue was up in 2011 to $3.71 billion.

This isn't the first time Facebook has had problems. On November 29, 2011, Facebook agreed to settle US Federal Trade Commission charges that it deceived consumers by failing to keep privacy promises.
