Following the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" on Nov. 11, Warner Bros. has announced it's taking a page from Disney, which pulls popular titles from store shelves after record runs, by stopping the shipment of copies of all Harry Potter movies as of Dec. 29.
This move will surely create a massive holiday shopping frenzy for the eight-film collection of the series, and like Disney, it sets the stage for future re-releases with additions, deletions, and extras.
To date, the films have raked in $12.1 billion in gross revenue for the series; $7-billion from box office receipts, and $5.1-billion from the Home Entertainment division of WB.

They are going to sell in massive amounts for the holidays then! I believe we have all of them except for the last one though. Whew!
Oh wow!! They will sellout!
That's insane. I hate the stupid Disney vault
Smart marketing move on their part, even if it does temporarily tick people off. They leave them up until after Cyber Monday, then yank them. Smart, smart, smart.
Wow, that is crazy but I guess it makes people want them more? IDK..
:-)
I bet they will have record sales!
I hate when companies do that, BUT I totally get it. It ups the excitement when the movie comes "back" and gives a good push in sales for it. Smart.
I never watched the Harry Potter movies, but kiddo is already asking for it! LOL
