One of my pet peeves has always been to feed our children - first. We have so many American children who are going hungry, who need help in this country, and I find it unbelievable that we are not taking care of them. Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry Campaign is a movement to make sure no child in America goes hungry. And, you can help, too.
Have you ever been hungry? I mean, lived wondering when you would get your next meal? Are your children fed and healthy?
If you're lucky enough to be able to feed your children, thank God. But, many children aren't so lucky.
Thanks to programs like the National School Lunch Program, most of America’s kids will be able to eat lunch next week. More than 20 million U.S. kids receive a free or reduced-price school lunch every day.
But, only a fraction of those enrolled in a lunch program receive a nutritious breakfast each morning. And, far too many of those kids have to worry about where their next meal is coming from when they’re not in school.
I love programs that are now collecting backpacks of food to send home with kids for the weekend so they have food to eat.
No matter where you plan to have lunch on Nov. 1, we hope you’ll take a stand against hunger by donating the cost of your lunch that day. Every dollar donated can help Share Our Strength connect a hungry child with up to 10 meals. A donation that’s equal to your $10 lunch will go a long way to help hungry children in the US.
It’s critical to get as many people on board as possible on Nov. 1 — the more who donate the cost of their lunch that day, the more children we can connect with food where they live, learn and play.
RSVP to participate in "Bag Childhood Hunger" Day on Nov. 1. On that day, you'll be asked to help raise awareness for childhood hunger by donating the same amount of money you spend on lunch to No Kid Hungry.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that strongly believes in this cause. I have compassion for all that is going without food, but it seems so many people are focusing on other countries while ignoring this country. There are so many Americans that are homeless and/or going without food. It's really sad!
This sounds like a fantastic program - thank you for sharing!
I didn't know about this. Thanks for sharing. I'll def participate.
Thank you so much for supporting Bag Childhood Hunger Day! Everyone at Share Our Strength really appreciates your support of the cause!
