I felt the Va. earthquake in N.C.

(U.S. Geological Survey)
This is the first time I felt an earthquake. It scared the poo out of me. My heart was jumping out of my chest.

I was sitting on my bed talking to my daughter on the phone at 1:53 p.m., and we both felt it as our houses shook and we yelled. We knew it was an earthquake. But, where?

There's a fault line in the N.C. mountains, and that was our first thought. My mother-in-law is there today, and we were worried if she was okay.

After making calls to family to check on them, we watched the news and learned it was a 5.9 magnitude earthquake centered northwest of Richmond, Va., in Mineral, Va., of Louisa County.
It was felt as far away as New York City to the north, and at least as far as Rock Hill, S.C. The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was 3.7 miles deep.

It's a feeling I don't want to experience again. It was out of the blue. With no warning.

Did you feel it?

living in Maine we didn't feel it here, but I can imagine it was very scary indeed. Stay safe :)
