Family Movie Night: 'Truth Be Told' has a little something for everyone

Family Movie Night is time spent together as a family. Sometimes it can be hubby and I curled up watching a TV movie together. Other times, it may be a movie we buy and watch with the grandkids at home.

One of my most cherished movie times is when my daughter, granddaughter and I go to the theater to see a movie together. We always have a great time watching the movie, eating popcorn and candy. Sometimes we even go shopping afterward to buy something from the show.

I love family movies that have something for everyone. And as I watched "The Truth Be Told" for this review, I laughed, I cried, I was happy and sad. The movie has romance, sports, four-wheeling, horses, music, technology, teen love, child heartache over the death of a parent, and a lesson about telling the truth.

Marriage counselor Annie Morgan (Candace Cameron Bure) is offered an opportunity to host a relationship talk show and she jumps at the chance. But when she learns being single might ruin her chances, she pretends to be wed to an old college friend and recent widower, Mark Crane (David James Elliott), who has kids.

When Annie and Mark join her possible new boss (Ronny Cox) for a weekend at his ranch in New Mexico, things don't go as planned. Comical misunderstandings mark the event as Annie struggles to keep up the ruse, finding herself emotionally invested and conflicted by her own conscience.

Will she confess the truth about her marital status and her feelings for Mark... and will the truth set them free? Candace and David worked magic on the screen.

The theme of the movie centers around "a little white lie". Is it ever OK to do this in your opinion? How would you discuss this with your kids?

Procter and Gamble, and WalMart present Family Movie Night - "Truth Be Told", starring Candace Cameron Bure, Ronny Cox, and David James Elliott, on Saturday, April 16 on FOX at 8pm EST/7pm CT. Soundtracks for the films also feature top producers and artists. The day after airing, a special 2-disc DVD/CD bonus pack will be available for purchase exclusively through Walmart.

I give this movie 5 stars.
