The top 13 finalists of American Idol

I had told myself I wouldn't watch this season of American Idol. After Paula left, I felt the show go down a slippery slope. But, when Simon left, I thought this show is over.

Well, I have been peeking to see how things are going. Randy Jackson is different in Simon's place. Jennifer Lopez is pretty and sweet, but I think she was acting with her crying scene. And well, when it comes to Steven Tyler, I don't care for his flirting or foul mouth.

Now, as for the talent this year, they're great. And I am very happy with a lot of the chocices made Thursday night.

Here are the top 13:

The top 10 finalists were chosen by America. The judges then chose Naima Adedapo, Ashthon Jones and Stefano Langone as wild cards.

I am pulling for these six, not necessarily in this order:
1. Scotty McCreery, 17 years old of Garner, NC; 2. Pia Toscano,  22 years old of Queens, NY; 3. Lauren Alaina 16 years old of Rossville, GA; 4. Paul McDonald 26 years old of Huntsville, AL; 5. Jacob Lusk 23 years old of Compton, CA; 6. James Durbin 22 years old of Santa Cruz, CA.

On Wednesday, the final 13 will take the stage to perform songs by their favorite artists. Then on Thursday, Adam Lambert will return to perform before we find out who goes home and who gets another chance.

Who are your top picks?

Hi Barbara, I'm a new follower from MBC. James Durbin reminds me of Adam Lambert. I'm a rocker chick at heart and always tend to pull for the rocker. I also really like Scotty McCreery's deep voice.

Hey Barbara! Can you believe the amazing talent this year? Even the "young ones" have mature voices! It is really hard making my picks.
I melt listening to Scotty's voice.
I absolutely love hearing Pia sing. Stephano is really good also. I can close my eyes and Paul takes me back to a little diner I was working at in New Jersey in '72 singing Maggie.. That and Chevy Van were 2 of my favorite songs to listen to on the Juke Box! LOL! I couldn't believe it! I can hear the singer's voice in my head, and Paul sounds JUST LIKE HIM. Boy! Did that take me back to my 20's! I think James is an exceptional singer. His voice range and clarity is phenominal, but I don't like that kind of music. What can I say? I'm past that stage. I even like Casey Abrams, but I think he is more "broadway".
Like I said, I'm having a hard time picking. Of course you know come next vote off- they will probably send two or three packing, unless they changed the number of people to "go on tour".

God Bless,
PJ

I really like the boy that has aspergers. I think he could go far.

I haven't been watching Idol this season but now I think I'm going to have to add to my viewing schedule - it sounds great!

I've missed more than I have seen this season, so thanks for the update!
