American Idol wimps out, taping show instead live performance

Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler, Ryan Seacrest, Jennifer Lopez, and Jimmy Iovine

I can't believe the producers of American Idol expect us to think it's OK, to watch a taped show of the top 13, instead of live performances. Are they afraid of the performers, or are they afraid of the judges messing up on live TV?

If the judges are so afraid of jeopardizing their reputations on live TV, then they should have chosen someone else. I was right when I said the show is going down the tubes if they are not going to do the show live.  I don't want to watch a polished version - it's too staged.

If we have to vote for the singers from a taped version it will be a set up. No doubt about it. They will do retakes to make "their" singer win. The other singers won't have a chance. I guess it will be a waste of time to vote this year.

didn't know they were going away from live versions...going to go do some research now. I have watched AI from the begining and I LOVE the new judges for the most part (I miss Simon's brutal honest). But I agree, don't take away the live element!!!
