What does Christmas mean to you? Tonight's special stop-motion animated episode of Community is about finding the meaning of Christmas, and how Abed's rediscovery of Christmas takes the group on a winter wonderland.
Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas airs tonight at 8 pm EST/ 7 pm CST on NBC.
I had never heard of the show Community before this assignment. So, I had some catching up to do before watching the animated Christmas special.
Then I watched the special a couple of times. It was entertaining, enlightening and enchanting as Abed's friends help him find Christmas again.
We all need to go on Abed's magic journey to rediscover Christmas. The show is rated PG, but there are a couple of cuss words and sexual references in the show not fitting for children. In my opinion, they weren't needed and should have been left out. Especially since this Christmas special airs at 8 pm EST.
Community
It’s been said that community college is a “halfway school” for losers, a self-esteem workshop for divorced housewives, and a place where old people go to keep their minds active as they circle the drain of eternity. Well, at Greendale Community College … that’s true. With Emmy Award-winning directors Joe and Anthony Russo (Arrested Development), this comedy is about higher education … and lower expectations.
Community focuses on a band of misfits. They form a study group and, in “Breakfast Club” fashion, end up learning a lot more about themselves than they do about their studies.
Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, "The Soup"), a fast-talking lawyer whose degree has been revoked, is at the center of the group. With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group.
Other group members include:
- comedy legend Chevy Chase ("Chuck") as Pierce, a man whose life experience has brought him infinite wisdom;
- Gillian Jacobs ("The Book of Daniel") as Britta, the 20-something dropout with something to prove;
- Yvette Nicole Brown ("Rules of Engagement") as Shirley, a sassy middle-aged divorcée;
- Danny Pudi ("Greek") as Abed, a pop culture junkie;
- Alison Brie ("Mad Men") as Annie, a high-strung perfectionist;
- Donald Glover ("30 Rock") as Troy, a former high school football star trying to find his way,
- and Ken Jeong ("The Hangover") as Señor Chang.
Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas
The group undergoes hypnosis to explore Abed's winter wonderland and unravel the truth behind Abed’s madness.
I hope you'll come back and let me know how you liked the show.

Full disclosure: I received nothing for this post as a member of One2One Network. However, I did get to preview the show prior to air time so I could post an honest review and will be entered to win a prize for doing so.
