My granddaughter feeds the animals as we drive thru Lazy 5 Ranch

My granddaughter, Kristen, feeds a deer at the Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, N.C.

Lazy 5 Ranch, privately owned by Henry Hampton, is an exotic animal drive-thru park that offers a 3.5 mile educational experience for kids of all ages. Mr. Hampton's son came up with the name, Lazy 5 Ranch. He said his family at the time consisted of 5 "lazy" people.

You can see 750 domestic and exotic animals from six continents including giraffe, zebra, buffalo, cattle, sheep and lots more, from your own car or a wagon ride. The purpose of the Lazy 5 Ranch is to educate and entertain, while providing an environment for reproducing and helping endangered animals including the Grevy Zebra, Scimitar Horned Oryx and Ring-tailed Lemur.
My daughter and granddaughter recently took me for my first visit of the ranch and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves animals. It's family oriented fun.

FALL FESTIVAL
Lazy 5 Ranch will be having a Fall Festival beginning October 1. It will include a straw maze, corn sandbox, pumpkin slingshot, pumpkins, and a large selection of fall decorations.

A Trunk-or-Treat is also planned October 29 - 31 from 4pm until sunset. Activities will include a Trunk-or-Treat, costume contest, straw maze, corn sandbox, pumpkin slingshot, pumpkin painting, door prizes, face painting, games, and more.
