J.C. Penney and Levi Strauss and Co. are hosting a sweepstakes on Facebook to give you a chance to win $50,000 for college tuition.

Prize Details

It’s fully transferrable, so if you win you can use it for yourself, your kid, your niece or nephew, or a friend. You win, you choose.

Prizes: (2) Grand Prizes – Entry Pools: One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded for each of the two (2) Entry Pools. One Grand Prize will be awarded to the Social Media Entry Pool and one (1) Grand Prize will be awarded to the Online / Text Message / Mail-In Entry Pool.

Each Grand Prize consists of: A) a $50,000.00 deposit into a 529 Qualified State Tuition Program tuition savings plan account owned by the Grand Prize winner (or his/her designee), and B) a check in the amount of $20,000.00 which winner may elect to use to defray all or part of the tax obligation associated with the Grand Prize.

Please note that the entire Grand Prize Package amount ($70,000.00) will be reported on Form 1099-MISC (or its equivalent), to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and to appropriate state and local taxation authorities.
