Chris Hughes, co-founder of Facebook, is the founder of the next big thing - Jumo.com, the place to share information about who you are and what you care about. Hughes says it connects you to the issues, people and organizations that are important to you and provides personalized opportunities for meaningful action.
Jumo is designed as an open platform that people and organizations can join. Hughes says active users will be welcome on the site when it launches with full capabilities later this year. In the meantime, he wants to know more about you.

Front End Web Developer
Jumo is a technology/product-focused start-up seeking motivated, experienced front end web developers for a small team. Qualifications include:
•Expert with front end technologies. This includes 3-4 years of javascript development as well as the ability to read, write and build using HTML, CSS and JS by hand. You should be so immersed in these technologies that you've developed your own philosophies on how front end code should be organized and structured.
•Expert in the use of one or more common javascript frameworks. (e.g., YUI, Prototype, JQuery)
•A solid understanding of web architecture, object-oriented software, and design patterns
•An understanding of good UI design. While you don't need to be a visual designer, you should be able to put together a compelling prototype without a designer holding your hand.
•Comfortable working in a Linux environment. Have you grepped anything lately?
•The competence and confidence to own your own work. Early in the project you will be the sole front end developer.
•A passion for building great software coupled with an enthusiasm for engaging in rapid prototyping and fast-paced development
•In-depth understanding of scalability and the challenges that fast-growing web applications experience
•Ability to work independently and think creatively about technical solutions to human problems. You will not be considered a technologist executing specs handed to you.
•Ability to grasp the big picture and have big ideas with the courage to voice them
•A drive to develop new skills
•B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in computer science or equivalent preferred
Web Developer
Jumo is a technology/product-focused start-up seeking motivated, experienced web developers for a small team.

•Experience with a range or both back end and front end technologies. This includes, but is not limited to, html, css, javascript, python, php, mysql, django and memcached technologies. You should be so immersed in these technologies that you've developed your own philosophies on how different environments should be organized, structured, and accessed.
•Strong working knowledge in creating, optimizing, and maintaining a scalable, fast-growing, data-heavy web application.
•A solid understanding of web architecture, object-oriented software, and design patterns
•Mastery of the Linux environment. Have you grepped anything lately?
•Ability to work independently and think creatively about technical solutions to human problems. You will not be considered a technologist executing specs handed to you.
•Ability to grasp the big picture, have big ideas and the courage to voice them
