Prayers, support needed NOW, PLEASE for 1-year-old baby Gabe, and family

Amy Champion Dolloff gave birth to Gabriel at 33 weeks. He was born with Down Syndrome and breathing issues. He is now 15 months old, and still has a Trachea and is on a ventilator.

After a 5-month stay in Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Centers NICU, he is back in the hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with Leukemia. He is in the PICU because of the ventilator and breathing issues. He is in critical condition.

Amy writes about last night, "Slept off and on. He is trying to spike a higher temp 39.9c. Ice is keeping it in check. May have to put him back on the cooling blanket. Cultures - blood, urine and another Trachea have been done. He had a few desats through the night."

An entry by Amy yesterday: "Just had quite the scare - the vent tubing came off and he dropped into the 60s - and the vent would not restart. Our nurse rocked and bagged him until RT got here and restarted it. I leaned out and everyone came running to help."

They are a Christian family. If they weren't, they may have already given up hope.

Amy and Eric also have three other children to take care of, Cody, 13, Logan, 11, and Eliana (eli-anna) 2.

It's impossible for me to comprehend having four kids, with one baby in the hospital in critical condition for months. It's a drain. Emotionally. Physically. Financially. They need support.

Amy has also set her sights on helping raise money for others. She plans to walk for the March of Dimes March for Babies again this year, which is in 75 days.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

"I would love if what is happening to Gabriel happens to no other baby," Amy said. "Please sponsor me, Eric or the kids."

You can donate/sponsor their team and/or join/walk with their team, Gabe's Way.

See the Dolloff's Facebook Page to follow Baby Gabe's health.

Every day Gabe is fighting, and his body is tired and his family is tired, but they are not giving up hope. They need help. They need prayers. They need you. Please help them if you can.
