Dear Barabara,

I just came across your blog as I was researching for an article (I'm also a journalist, mother and married to a former military man). After reading of your son's death, I felt compelled to write to you.

I am sorry for your loss. I know as a mother words cannot sooth the pain you must feel. My deepest sympathy for you and your family.

I hope you are able to find peace and solace in your family, community (virtual & actual) and your writing.

Warmly,
-Barbara Walker
