Would you like to thank a veteran? Add their name, a message and picture here

Veterans are people who served in the military (U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard) in times of war or peace.

Unfortunatly, some newspapers think veterans are only those who served during war and do not give credit to all veterans.

"The title “veteran” must be earned. It is a title endowed by a grateful nation on citizens whose shoulders were broad enough to carry the weight of our common defense," said former VA Secretary Anthony J. Principi's on July 2, 2003. "It is a title that speaks of courage and sacrifice in the face of mortal danger. It is a title that speaks of compassion and heartbreak in the wake of the terrible cost of war. And it is a title that speaks of love of country, and of a belief in America’s goodness, and our strength."

Since today is Veterans Day, I would like to thank all veterans who have served our country. We would not be the greatest country in the world without you.

Thank you hubby, 1st Sgt. Platt, and son-in-law, Sgt. Derrick White, we are so proud of you for the many years you served in the U.S. Army.

Hi, Barbara~

It's nice to meet you! :D What a great post. So often we forget to thank those that have served to protect our freedoms that we so often take for granted.

I posted today about my son-in-law, who is in the Army. He has returned from Iraq and will be deployed again in a few months to I believe Afghanistan. I will be praying for all of our service men and woman!

God Bless America!
