Encouragement: God doesn't give you more than you can handle

This has been a hard week for my family.

My daughter, Patricia, is having a lumpectomy Wednesday morning. Then we have to wait for the news after the biopsy.

And as we were preparing ourselves for Patricia's surgery, we found out our 2-year-old granddaughter, Kristen, my daughter's little girl, has lead poisoning.

She was taken to the doctor for being red in the diaper area and a urine specimen showed she had a Urinary Tract Infection - the second one in a couple of months. It also showed blood in her urine. After taking a bottle of antibiotics, she was tested again and found to have rising levels of lead in her blood. It had gone from a three to a seven in two months, and we don't know why or where it's coming from.

My daughter was asked a list of questions and her response was no to each until she got to the last one - soil. We don't know what's in the soil. So I guess her yard has to be tested.

This morning her husband awoke, and he can't open his eyes after working late last night. He thinks he burned his eyes and now has to go to the eye doctor today instead of work.

Trying to stay encouraged, my daughter wrote me an email this morning, "I know God doesn't give you more than you can handle, he must think I'm as strong as an ox!"

I heard a speaker talk once about the Refiner's Fire. A silversmith knows exactly when to remove the silver from the fire because he can see his reflection in the silver. God is our silversmith and our refiner always.

Blessings to your family. I hope you can find the encouragement you need through the blog hop today! I will say a prayer for your family.

I either read or watched a show once that told the story of a little toddler with lead poisoning that they could not figure out where it was coming from. They eventually discovered it was coming from the carpet and the toddler was getting it in his socks and then putting his feet in his mouth. Just to let you know in case the carpet or floor hasn't been tested yet. Be sure to up date cause I will check back to see the out come. Need to put things like this in my memory bank (what little room is left)
Blessings to the rest of you that are having problems. God is faitful so hang in there.
