Hoover TwinTank™ Steam Mop review

Dylan helps me test the Hoover Steam Mop. He had to hold the 30-ft cord.

I'm not old school like my mom, the bucket and mop doesn't exist here. I prefer getting the dirt up and discarding it. But, the the white tiles in the kitchen always look dirty and it drives me crazy. Now, I've found the answer with the Hoover Twin-Tank Steam Mop.
The Hoover Steam Mop steams the floor clean

I've never used a steam mop, so I can't compare my Hoover to another steam mop, but I love this machine. It is really easy to assemble and use. And, the results have been fabulous. We can really see the difference with this triangular head it can get into corners and along baseboards.

The twin tanks go on each side of the machine. One gets filled with solution and one with water.

The front tank is for water. It slides down and snaps into place.

The solution tank fits on the back of the machine. It slides down and snaps into place.

The controls are easy. The Solution Control Dial is used to increase your cleaning power. When it's on steam only, you can steam away light stains and quick surface dusting. But you can turn up the dial setting to add the biodegradable, non-toxic SteamPlus™ Cleaning Solution to steam away tougher dirt and harder to remove messes. We tried it both ways, but the steam cleaning only worked great.

It heats quickly, and has a swivel head

Hoover Steam Mop disinfects and kills 99.99 percent of harmful bacteria. For me that's important, not only because I have kids around, but because I have Asthma and allergies.

The Hoover on the carpet guide

An added bonus advantage to the Hoover Steam Mop is that I can use it on my carpet. It's a lot easier than getting out the carpet shampooer. The Hoover isn't very high so it's able to go under furniture better.

When we were finished cleaning, we took the pad off the bottom and threw it in the washer. And, I did dry mine, although the directions say not to. Then we sat the Hoover on it's cooling tray.

You can buy a Hoover TwinTank™ Steam Mop online at Hoover, Target, or Amazon for $99.99. It would make a great Christmas present, too.

Disclosure: “I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review, but my opinions are entirely my own.”

    1. My steam mop just uses water - while that saves on having to buy solution, I sometimes wonder if it's getting clean enough - this seems like a good one!

    5. I have been wanting a steam mop but wasn't sure if they really worked that well. I also have white tile in my kitchen that is always dirty looking - I hate it. I have grandchildren, 2 dogs, and 2 cats that live with me so germs are always a concern. Thanks for the review and I am going to order one tonight.

    8. This looks like an awesome cleaning tool. I own a Hoover carpet cleaner and absolutely love it. I would probably love this too if I could get past my addiction of doing floors on my hands and knees. Old fashioned I guess. You didn't mention if you could use it on wood laminate floors. Thanks.

    9. OMGosh I need one of these-I struggle with mopping my floors with the mop & bucket way after suffering a stroke. I don't feel that I can get them clean enough lacking the strength of using the mop -I think this cute little machine would do the trick; thanks for sharing-hope Santa is watching.

    14. Just an FYI, it will definitely remove any wax from your floor when you use the solution. Didn't realize my marble was waxed. The upside is you can be sure it's cleaning.

    18. Thank you so much for the review on this Hoover steam cleaner. I see these all the time and wonder how well they work, It does seem like it could simplify the old dreaded floor duty. I still clean mine the old fashioned way of on my hands and knees. I am curious as to know if this works on word laminate flooring as well. Thanks again.
