Carolina Summer Camps gear up for fun

School's almost out for the summer here in N.C. Parents are looking for summer camps for their children and there are plenty of options available.

There are summer camps for Arts, Sports, Academic, Church, Residential and Specialty. For residential camps, make sure this isn't the first time your child will be sleeping away from home. Let them practice overcoming their separation anxiety with a couple of sleep-overs with friends or family before going to a residential camp.

CarolinaSummerCamps.com has compiled an extensive directory of summer camps for six of the largest cities in North Carolina; Asheville, Cary, Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro, Kernersville, Wilmington and Winston-Salem. These eight cities have specific camp directories for parents to find the most complete listing of summer camps in their area. Each listing has all the contact information you need.

CharlotteSummerCamps.org is the closest to us. Several Summer Arts Camps, Summer Sports Camps, Summer Academic Camps, Summer Residential Camps, and Summer Specialty Camps are listed. It's exciting to see Chef's Choice Summer Camps at
Johnson and Wales University for the aspiring chefs in your home. And, I love the Mad Science Camps and U.S. National Whitewater Center Summer Camps. There really is something for everyone.

Financially, parents can save money when they enroll their kids. Discounts, scholarships, and financial aid is available.

Did you go to a N.C. summer camp as a kid? What was your favorite? Please, share if you have any tips or memories.
