MOMtrepreneur Crafter of the Day: Back-to-School Pencil Cake

This is a cute Back-to-School Pencil Cake. It would be a nice present to the teacher to help out with extra supplies.

You’ll need two Styrofoam cake rounds, a few inches smaller in diameter than your cake stand.

1. Using tacky glue, glue the two cake rounds together and let dry.
2. Put two file size rubber bands around the Styrofoam cake. Carefully slide pencils under the rubber bands until the entire Styrofoam cake round is covered.
3. Add loose rubber bands on top of the cake for frosting.
4. To create the pencil candles, push red pencils with yellow eraser caps into the foam top.

Brittany Egbert and Sara Westbrook of One Charming Party has a tutorial to show you all the steps. All of the great ideas in the picture above are on the site, too.
