We will never forget 9-11

god bless americaWe will never forget the day our nation was attacked by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001. That's the day 13 years ago that changed our world as we know it.

It was a Tuesday morning which began as any other workday until the North Twin Tower of The World Trade Center in New York City was hit by American Airlines Flight 11. No one knew if it was an accident or not. Everyone was watching live TV as United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower. That's when we knew it was not an accident. Within two hours the buildings came crumbling down and it became known as Ground Zero.

Four planes had been hijacked by 19 al-Qaeda terrorists. There were two more planes.

We watched as American Airlines Flight 77 flew into the Pentagon, headquarters of the Dept. of Defense. Then, the final hijacked plane, United Airlines Flight 93, targeted Washington, DC. But, heroes on that plane said, "Let's Roll", and fought the terrorists crashing the plane in a field near Shanksville, PA.

There were 2,977 killed. More than 6,000 people were hurt.

Until 9-11 we felt safe in our homeland. After 9-11, we felt vulnerable.

We pulled together. We stood side-by-side and fought back. I've never seen so much Patriotism.

When you see someone in the military, a police officer, a fireman, a medic, or EMT, anyone who serves to help you - say thank you.

Where were you when you heard about 9-11?
