Lil Snappers are kid size fruit kids love to eat #LilSnappers

Kristen and I made an Apple Blossom from Pink Lady Lil Snappers.

Lil Snappers fruit have a lot of new fans around here. I know Lil Snappers are for kids, but aren't we all kids at heart? My favorite Lil Snappers are the Pink Lady Apples and the Cara Cara Navel Oranges.

The Pink Lady Lil Snappers are so crisp, and they're sweet and tart. They're perfect to eat alone, or in a recipe.

The Cara Cara Navel Lil Snappers are a beautiful pink color inside due to the natural presence of Lycapene. They remind me of a pink grapefruit and they're so sweet. They're branded as The Power Orange, because of its nutritional value. They have 30% more Vitamin A and 20% more Vitamin C than regular oranges.

It's hard to decide which Lil Snapper fruit to eat first. They all taste so good.

The California Mandarin Lil Snappers are sweet and juicy. They're also very easy to peel. They are an excellent source of fiber and a good source of folate and Vitamin C.

Lil Snappers are kid size fruit Kristen loves to eat.

Minneola Tangelos Lil Snappers are bold, tangy, tart-sweet flavor. It's cute little knob on the top is what grabbed my attention first, and it makes it easy to peel. They're actually a hybrid of a grapefruit and tangerine, and very juicy with a good source of folate and Vitamin C.

Lil Snappers are perfect for a healthy piece of fresh fruit. But they also make easy grab-and-go, nutritious, and convenient snacks. The small fruits are perfect for small hands.

I love to cook with my grandkids. I believe being in the kitchen is a great learning tool. Lil Snappers created a lot of fun kid-friendly recipe ideas to transform snack time into a hands-on family experience.

Here's a snack recipe Kristen and I decided to make and share with you. It's easy enough for little ones to do and the ingredients are ones she likes. She could handle everything except cutting the apple, because we had to use a knife since we had thrown away our corer and hadn't purchased a new one yet.

Apple Blossom Recipe
Ingredients
1 Pink Lady Lil Snapper Kid Size Apple
3 ounces vanilla-flavored, frozen yogurt, or non-frozen as preferred
2 teaspoons granola
Chopped nuts, if desired

Instructions:

Place an apple corer/slicer on top of apple and carefully press down, from top stem through core, leaving just a little bit of the bottom of the apple intact (this will help hold the “petals” (slices) of the apple together). Carefully pull the corer/slicer back up from the fruit (pushing slices down through cutter to help release it from the fruit). Using kitchen scissors, carefully snip the core out of the center of the apple.

Draw slices back in together to reform apple shape and transfer to serving plate or shallow bowl. Release slices of apple and gently fan out to resemble petals of a flower.

Or, if you have no apple corer, use a knife and slice an apple to make your petals. Place them into a cupcake decorator paper and place it into a bowl.

Spoon the frozen yogurt into the center of the apple blossom and sprinkle with granola and some chopped nuts, if you desire.

Serve immediately.

To eat, pull the petals (apple slices) from blossom and dip into the soft frozen yogurt.

We both recommend you try this recipe with your kids. And try the other recipes available, too.

Kristen placed a few of each Lil Snappers fruit in a bag to carry with her.

How do they grow them small and seedless? GMOs? What's going on? Wish they explained that part.

these are cute and i can definitely see how it would help to draw kids to eat more fruit, but i worry about how natural can they be? are they genetically altered or are there any chemicals to make them that size?
